Like most artistic-hearted folks, I’m a sucker for authentic love stories. They give me the freedom to capture more than beautiful images. The emotions and the textures of the day intertwined with the love and joy everyone shares. And in October of 2021 at this fairytale enchanted forest wedding, I got just that.
Corrie and Hunter gave so much thought to their wedding day and it was apparent in their choices. There was so much thought and intention given on this big day. One of the coolest ways this was done was in the space that Corrie got ready in.
What fairytale enchanted forest wedding is complete without the dreamiest of lighting streaming through a circular window?
The circular window was a truly unique and lovely touch to her great getting-ready space. And it was the perfect spot for a moment of serenity before the festivities of the day took over. Especially since a wedding day brings out the nerves in everyone.
One of my favorite ways for the lovely couple to reconnect on their wedding is to take some time together before their ceremony. Corrie and Hunter wanted to stick to tradition and not have a first look before their ceremony. But they still wanted to have a moment alone together.
So they decided on having a first touch. The time they had was short but it was everything they needed in that moment. They exchanged gifts, and got to hold each other. It was incredibly emotional and served to soothe their nerves.
Then we had the ceremony. And let me tell you…
It was out of a storybook. Everything was beautifully executed. From the flower petal fanny packs to the heartfelt words that they shared. The tears flowed when they read poems and exchanged handwritten vows. After the “I do’s” were exchanged and they were proclaimed a married couple we had time for the fun part! The couple portraits at golden hour.
If there is one thing I could recommend all couples do (other than a first look or first touch) it would be this. Make sure to set aside enough time to take your portraits.
They blocked off most of their portrait time just to be alone and savor time together. Time to absorb the feeling of being a married couple and bask in the love you share. The love that got you here.
After the photos were taken and those memories were frozen in time the reception awaited the happy couple.
And what an awesome party it was! We had my photo-booth for their guest to have fun. (And the guest absolutely had a blast!) But they had a live band to really get the party going!
The live band had absolutely everyone out of their seats and on their feet dancing and having fun the entire night. And the party didn’t end until 2 am! That’s my kind of party my friends.
But don’t just take my word for it, check out the full wedding day below!
